Imagine this situation: you are really interested to start a business on your own. You don’t know where to start. You decide to do some research about how to start a business. You talk to your friend about your project. He recommends that you start on the basics. He said that: The basic is your mindset. You read a book about how to have the right mindset. Here, what you will learn on this topic. That you need a dream, written goals, a passion and a game plan to make your dream come true.
First, you must dream big dreams. Dreams are the fuel that gives you the motivation you need to put in that extra mile. Dreams are the fuel that provides the sheer will power that allows you to say: “I can, I will, I MUST!” There is a quote who reflects that from an unknown author: “Follow your dreams, for as you dream you shall become.”
Second, you must have written goals. Goals give you a sense of meaning and purpose. Goals give you a sense of direction. In 1953, researchers studying goal setting surveyed a group of students from Yale University on their goals. They discovered only 3% of that group had written goals. 20 years later, when they tracked down the same students, they discovered that the same 3% who had clearly written goals when they graduated in 1953 were more successful, and worth more in terms of wealth than the other 97% put together.
Third, you must have a passion for what you do. This is the driving force that set you apart from other peoples. It’s a desire, energy that gives you the fuel to tap into your potential. There is a quote from T. Alan Armstrong who demonstrates that. His quote is the following: if there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it, and let it become you and you will find great things happen for you, to you and because of you.
Finally, you must have a game plan. It will give you a direction and you will avoid being lost in so many details. Brian Tracy who is an expert in goals setting, says that “Every minute spend in planning saves ten minutes in execution. Every minute that you spend planning and thinking before you begin will save you time, money, and energy in getting the results you desire.”
In conclusion, you learned what it takes to realize your dream. You learned that it takes a dream, written goals, a passion and a game plan to make your dream come true. Now that you know it, will you make your dream come true?
