Network marketing, or MLM, is built upon a single premise. If you can target the right leads, you will be able to market your opportunity. This holds true regardless of what your opportunity might actually be. Today, there are tens of thousands, even millions, of different products, services and programs marked through MLM. However, no matter what your opportunity is, you need to ensure that you have the right leads.
Why do you need leads? First, consider leads as customers, or participants or sign-ups on your sheet. The goal is to convert a person from a lead into a customer or a participant. You want those people to take some action, whether that is requesting more information, ordering your latest eBook or something else. Without leads, you have no qualifying actions. Without those actions, you have no profit. Therefore, leads are of the utmost importance to you. However, here lies the problem: where do you get those leads that you need so badly?
The answer many marketers turn to is to buy leads from a lead generation company. On the surface, this seems a logical step. After all, lead generation companies specialize in generating leads, which they then pass along to you. Unfortunately, these are rarely the right option. The truth on MLM is that while a few marketers might find a bit of success by purchasing their leads, most meet with dismal failure. This is due to a number of factors, including the fact that most leads purchased in this manner are not targeted to your audience, or are not valid leads.
Where then should you turn? You still need leads in order to market your opportunity. Thankfully, you can easily learn how to begin generating your own list of leads. This has a number of benefits for you. First, it’s more affordable, saving you some much-needed capital, which can then be reinvested in your marketing materials or other options.
Second, they are targeted to your offer. When you generate your own leads, you allow your website visitors to target themselves. In addition, because you will most likely be gathering leads from your newsletter subscriptions and other opt-in forms, you will not be accused of sending out spam. Each person you email will be interested in what you have to offer and will be eager to learn more about what you can do for them (or how they can participate in your marketing).
